Assessment of Schedule 6 and 7 chemicals in Waste

A major national project was undertaken to evaluate how Schedule 6 and 7 Chemicals within a broad spectrum of waste products are managed in Australia. The team at Murrang Earth Sciences worked with Australian Environment Agency to assess the current capabilities, identify critical data gaps, and deliver strategic recommendations for sustainable management.

The research generated actionable recommendations and technical frameworks for identifying, assessing, and managing persistent organic pollutants in waste streams. These outputs have informed approaches to data collection, waste tracking, and selection of treatment technologies relevant to hazardous waste management in Australia.
