Chemical Review
Murrang works with the Australian Environment Agency to review chemicals that are or will be used in Australia. We provide support on evidence-based assessments, including efficacy, as well as consideration of hazards, risk assessments and management. We use a structured analytical approach to assess data reliability for chemical assessment and provide a fully-referenced report that includes assessment, gaps and limitations.

Risk Assessment
Chemical behaviour in the environment can be incredibly complex. Murrang have applied our extensive field knowledge as well as theoretical expertise on how chemicals behave in natural ecosystems to enable our clients to better understand the interactions, impacts, and risks of chemicals in the environment. Offshore oil platform decommissioning risk assessment
Murrang Earth Sciences led the chemical risk assessment for onshore decommissioning of infrastructure from offshore oil platforms, addressing a novel waste stream with limited existing guidance. We developed a tailored assessment framework to evaluate contamination risks during removal, transport and land-based management, including source–pathway–receptor modelling, chemical inventory review, and assessment of engineering and procedural controls. This work helped provide a clear and defensible basis for managing complex industrial decommissioning risks. Read the case study,
